Friends Growing Up Together

Recently I had the opportunity to visit with not just one but two friends that I had not seen in a very long time. On both of these occasions I had nothing to say! I couldn't' help it. Te only thing happening in my life is my children... Ya my family... That is really it, they don't' want to hear about my home business. So we went through the standard trying to catch up questions at first and suddenly had nothing to talk about on either end.

However!! It was just nice to be in the presence of my friend while I was. Both of these individuals had been my friend for a very,, very long time and it had been several years since I had the opportunity to sit in either of their presence. It was just nice to know that no matter what we were still friends.

As we get older and pass beyond the teenage years things change... back then there was a lot of gossip and very unimportant information to share together and you had all the time in the world to just sit around and be in each other presence, talking or silent. I guess it is kind of the same... You just have a family that occupies your mind now and you don't care so much about the gossip... or don't have any at all. nothing to share but potty stories and the cute thing that they so-and-so just started saying.

I guess what I am trying to say is that it was nice to be near my friends and know that they still love me and that I still love them. I had a nice visit just being near them and I hope that they felt the same way.

Growing up is hard to do when you have had friends for so long and don't get to transition into adulthood with them close by.
