I subscribe to a couple of different magazines. One of them is Parents.
I received my new edition of Parents recently, and while I really love to read these types of magazines, I obviously do not have a lot of time to read them.
The one thing I don't understand is why on earth they make just about every single article three pages. We are parents, we need overviews sometimes. :)
That and the fact that the boys will tear it out of my hands and throw it across the room, because I am not paying full attention to them. I really only read them to find fun things for them to do, but they don't understand that yet. :)
So despite all of these things I almost always find something I love in them when I brows...
I found an article called "39 Things Every Mom Should Know" by Kacy Faulconer. I really enjoyed this little bit of information and decided to blog and give my two cents on some of the things she listed. :)
In no particular order... but I will use her numbers as they are listed so I have an easier time keeping track of the ones I am doing . :) So they will be out of order. :)
#5 If the kids are awake, bite the bullet and be awake yourself. You'll waste so many hours trying futilely to extend early-morning snoozes that it's not worth it. If you are sick, pregnant, or it's the middle of the night, ignore this advice.
I loved this! This has been the story of my life since teaching the boys to sleep on their own AND potty train them. They generally will sleep until 8 or later, but more recently they have been getting more rest and they wake around 7 having to go potty.
I can't complain unless they don't listen and go straight in and go potty... it tends to be a poop that they aren't responsible to clean up, I am.
Which leads to your double feature of the day :)
#7 Don't beat yourself up if you have to use a bribe.
I have found that the boys do much better going potty first thing when I tell them that I will turn on "Ants" and give them a cracker. They always ask me for these two things every single morning first thing anyway. so I don't give it to them until they go potty.
Those are today's little tidbits that I wanted to share with stay home mothers. :)
Enjoy right now.
Cara :)
